Who doesn’t need a little love, a hug, and a kiss?
Let’s celebrate it all!
I couldn’t choose between these two adorable books for the theme of love this month, so I decided to review them both. These two gems are ones you’ll want to read to your little ones this Valentine’s Day.
Peter Reynolds has teamed up with his son Henry Rocket Reynolds to create, All We Need is Love and a really soft pillow.
In this heartfelt story, a soft and furry caregiver and child, make decisions about what they need in life as they build it together. They go through all the essentials such as a roof over their heads, water to drink, a vegetable garden, and even chocolate and books!
When they lose it all, the caregiver tells the little one, that not only do they have each other, but they also have love.
“And love is all we need.”
Eric Carle’s Hugs & Kisses for the Grouchy Ladybug reminds us that everyone needs hugs and kisses, especially when we are feeling grouchy or down.
With his classic bright coloured collage illustrations, Eric Carle brings all of ladybug’s animal friends to share what hugs and kisses will make you do, like; stand tall, jump for joy, and feel warm and fuzzy (like the brown bear). This book is perfect for the toddler in your life who may be feeling grouchy.
It reminds us that hugs and kisses make the world go around.
We all need hugs, kisses, and love.
Helps with: the importance counting your blessings, cherishing time with those you love, feeling grouchy, feeling loved, feeling nurtured and cared for, and Valentine’s Day books to read to little ones.
