Scaredy Squirrel

Nov 3, 2021

The unknown can be a scary place for squirrels.

It can be a scary place for all of us.

If you haven’t met Scaredy Squirrel yet, it’s time.

Scaredy Squirrel never leaves his nut tree as he’d rather stay safe in his predictable home. He follows his daily routine and keeps everything the same. He knows what to do in case of an emergency and has his exit plan ready to go.

Until one day something happens and he doesn’t follow the plan—he steps into the unknown.

Any child who has anxiety or fears will relate to this adorable character. The cartoon pictures, fold out pages and clever layout really drew me into the story. The over-the-top rules Scaredy Squirrel follows, will open up conversations about fears and how they can get in the way of enjoying life.

Helps with: fears and anxiety, facing the unknown, taking risks and learning about yourself.
