Are you feeling like you need a little hope right now?
How about a reminder to love and respect each other?
Based on Bob Marley’s famous song “One Love”, his eldest daughter Cedella Marley has adapted the lyrics for children. She has written this book about a community coming together to turn a vacant lot into a park. The One Love Park.
The words of the book are powerful and familiar and you may find yourself singing along. The colourful pictures tell the story of one little girls’ effort to look after her neighbourhood and bring her family and friends together with a common goal.
“One love, one heart.
Let’s get together and feel all right”
The book highlights a diverse multi-cultural community with people of all ages working together. Suitable for young children ages 2-5 years, this book is a beautiful tribute to the power of love to unify the world.
“One love, when your hand reaches out for me.
One heart, when we touch, a new world we’ll see.”
In the end note, Cedella Marley shares that this song is her “happy song” ,and a “happy-healing-sleepy song”, as she sang it to her children to help them fall asleep.
“When my father sang “One Love”, he felt it all the way-heart and soul, mind and body. He thought a world united by love was possible, and it is. All we’ve got to do, he said, is ‘Give a little, take a little.’ My father wanted people to embrace one another and take care of one another. That was and is the message of “One Love.””
One love to all.
